What is Smart Choice
A simple idea: that balanced, seasonal and delicious food is always within reach. Through careful ingredient selection, thoughtfully curated menus and clear information at every dish, we make it easier for you to decide what to put on your plate today.
And because mindful eating is not a one-off action, we focus on a different topic every month — from plant-based diets and biodiversity to the role of the microbiome, ingredient seasonality and sustainable cooking.
Why we do it
The food you eat at work makes up a significant part of your daily nutrient intake. It therefore matters how well the restaurant menu supports healthy eating — and how much space it allows for conscious choice. That is a responsibility we take seriously as a workplace catering operator.
Our role is not to decide for you. Our role is to give you every day options that make the healthier choice the tastier one too.
How it works in practice
Smart Choice is the result of collaboration between chefs, nutrition specialists, ingredient suppliers and operations teams. Every month we change the theme and with it part of the menu. We select ingredients with regard to season and origin, prepare dishes carefully to preserve both flavour and nutrients, and keep you informed — briefly, clearly, without moralising. Because a good decision needs good information.
Start where you are
The fact that you are reading these lines already shows that your health matters to you. Thank you — and we look forward to bringing you new inspiration every month on how to nourish both body and mind.
In June
Green, young, crunchy
June is one of the most beautiful months in the kitchen. Gardens and fields are now offering the best of their first harvest — asparagus, young peas, radishes, kohlrabi, salad mixes, young garlic and the first summer herbs. They have a short seasonal rhythm, high water content, a delicate texture and a flavour that needs no "improving".
All it takes is one thing: not ruining them with long cooking.
In June, Smart Choice therefore focuses on the gentle preparation of young spring vegetables — on how to prepare them so they retain their colour, juiciness, crunch and all the nutrients we eat them for in the first place.
